Do you know how much sodium you consume in a single day? If the answer is no, you are not alone. Understanding sodium consumption has significantly changed my life. It was necessary for me to know my sodium intake to help reduce my blood pressure. However, as I began to read nutrition labels I started to learn how bad some foods really are for our body. Here are a few of my favorites that I had to let go! You will see why.


*American Heart Association recommends a diet containing no more than 1500 milligrams of sodium per day.

Ranch Dressing, Low Sodium

  • 15 milligrams per serving, 2 Tablespoon

  • 2 Tablespoons of Sour Cream (I use Daisy)

  • 1 tsp Apple Cider Vinegar

  • ¼ teaspoon dill, garlic and mustard

  • 1 tsp lemon juice (optional)

Mix all ingredients. You can increase the recipe and store in the refrigerator for a week.
